For local governments

Rural municipalities and municipalities carry revenue, accounts and local development on their own shoulders. NIBM designs the training that helps their people do it.

How we work with a municipality

NIBM designs the course content, syllabus and learning materials, and manages the expert resource persons, according to the needs of the government body. Every programme follows the same four steps.

  1. A hill municipality in Nepal01

    The municipality sets the need

A rural municipality, municipality or government office tells us who should be trained and what they need to be able to do.

  2. Course materials being prepared at a table02

    We design the course

NIBM prepares the course content, syllabus and learning materials for that target group and agrees them with the office.

  3. A participant asking a question at a seminar03

    We bring the experts

Resource persons with practical experience in the subject are chosen and briefed on the group and its context.

  4. Participants in a training class04

    The programme is delivered

Training, a workshop or a seminar runs for the participants the municipality has selected, with materials they keep.

Seven provinces, 753 local levels

Our goal for local government

NIBM aims to become the primary knowledge and training partner for Nepal's rural municipalities and municipalities.

  • Customised workshops in municipal taxation, public procurement, VAT and accounting for local administration personnel.
  • Structured public-private partnership dialogues and business expansion seminars in all seven provinces.

These are targets NIBM is working towards, not a record of completed work.
